What We Believe

has a dog named Pixie. (He didn't name it). He is the Chair of the Anglican
Essentials Council and a member of the Elmhurst Group.
George is a regular speaker at the Parliament Hill Christian Fellowship,
and is a sponsoring pastor of City Wide Worship. George became a Christian
in the 70's through the "Jesus People" - he still has a
copy of the Hippie Bible "Letters to Street Christians".
George paid for his studies at St Paul University by teaching bodybuilding.
George is still athletic - as long as it is above minus thirty degrees,
you will find him jogging through the streets of Ottawa every day.
George loves hanging out with his family, watching videos, and eating
the occasional bag of potato chips.

Secretary Vi is in the office four days a week. If you call
between 1 and 4, you’ll probably get her. Vi has been secretary
at St Alban’s for almost two years. She has two grown up kids.
Vi enjoys baking really awesome desserts for the College and Careers
group and swimming, reading and travelling, or at least dreaming about

||Nat Bigsworth -
Pastoral Assistant Nat has been with us since November 2003.
Nat began her time at St Alban's as an Artizo Intern, and following
her graduation from that program, has stayed on as a pastoral assistant
to continue the ministries she undertook
in the Artizo program. Nat is an Aussie born and bred, and came to
Canada in December 2002. Nat is primarily involved at the 9.15 service,
in particular with the College & Careers ministry and with LIFE
groups. Nat has a B. Arts in Biblical Studies and Studies of Religion
from the University of Sydney in Australia. Nat loves the snow, and
all kinds of wintery fun, especially skating. More than that, however,
she longs for the Australian beaches. She loves reading, Diet Coke,
and beets on burgers! Nat misses home but loves Canada and is considering
returning here after she attends seminary in Australia.
Eric Melby -
Artizo Intern Eric is the newest member of the St. Alban's
staff (and newest Artizo Intern). Eric recently received his Baccalaureate in Theology from St. Paul University. He spent 13 years in the Canadian Forces
as an Administration Clerk in the Navy and at Headquarters. He spent
two summers as a Reserve Chaplain Candidate in different parts of
Canada. He and his wife Barbara (sister of Rev. Alex Lewanowicz) enjoy
spending their time together and are both avid readers. Eric likes
to dabble in web design, music and meeting others (even though he's
shy like George). They are proud parents of a new baby boy, Kristian Stendal Melby, born 3 July.
Eric has been called by the Regional Parish of Vanderhoof and the Bishop of Caledonia, the Right Reverend William
Anderson to serve as a deacon. Eric will be ordained on Holy Cross Day, 14 September 2005 in Vanderhoof.
The Regional Parish consists of three parishes, Holy Trinity in Vanderhoof, St. Patrick's in Ft. St. James,
and St. Wilfred's in Fraser Lake. Lord willing, Eric will be ordained to the priesthood in mid-December 2005.
||Jono Hamer-Wilson - Worship
Co-ordinator Originally hailing from rural Australia, Jono
is our Contemporary Music Team Leader. He moved to Sydney to study
Music, French Literature and Education, and there joined St. Barnabas
Broadway Anglican Church, where he lead the Evening Service Music
Group and served on Parish Council. This is also where Jono met Jill,
a Canadian Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship Staff Worker in Australia
on a staff exchange. Jono left his position as Music Consultant with
the Anglican Church of Sydney to move to Canada. They were married
in 1996 and have two young boys: Jonah and Tavian.
Jono brings energy and enthusiasm to his role at St. Alban’s. He’s
grateful for the opportunity to use the gifts God has given him. He also
teaches private music lessons to around 75 students. He really enjoys encouraging
and equipping people in performing and appreciating music. He is also currently
pursuing (on a part-time basis) a Masters in Theological Studies at Tyndale
Seminary. In his spare time (spare time?!?), he enjoys fun outings with
his family, running and reading.
