Anglican Primates Meeting in Ireland

At the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Rowan Williams, the Primates of the worldwide Anglican communion assembled at the Dromantine Retreat and Conference Centre in Northern Ireland 20 - 25 February, 2005.

During this meeting, the Primates received reports from the Provinces most affected by the recent tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean and the works of relief undertaken by the Anglican churches.

The majority of the Primates' time was spent giving consideration to the Windsor Report 2004, in which the Lambeth Commission on Communion had offered its recommendations on the future life of the Anglican Communion in the light of developments in Anglican life in North America.
